13 Workers Reported Missing in Himachal Pradesh Perfume Factory Fire, Plant Head Arrested

Shimla: A woman died and 13 workers were reported missing in the massive fire which gutted Aroma Aromatics and Flavours at Jharmjri in Barotiwala of Himachal Pradesh on Friday. Police arrested the plant head of the burnt-down perfume manufacturing unit for negligence and culpable homicide. Search is on to track down the owners of the factory.

Initially, there were reports of nine people having been missing but as per figures compiled by the local administration from the labour contractor and factory management 13 people have been reported missing.

A team of NDRF, police and home guards are involved in the search for bodies in the gutted perfume factory.

Himachal CM Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu is also slated to visit the spot by Saturday afternoon.
