Agra Woman Offers ₹50,000 Bounty on WhatsApp for Husband’s Murder; FIR Lodged

Agra: A marital dispute in Agra’s Bah district took a chilling turn when a wife publicly offered a ₹50,000 reward for her husband’s murder through her WhatsApp status. The husband, fearing for his safety, filed a police complaint accusing his wife and her friend of threats.

According to the complaint, the couple tied the knot on July 9, 2022, in a village in Madhya Pradesh’s Bhind district. However, their marriage quickly soured, leading to constant arguments and discontent. Matters escalated when the wife returned to her parents’ home in December 2022, just five months into the marriage.

The husband alleges that tensions intensified after his in-laws threatened his life on December 21, 2023, during his return from Bhind. Subsequently, his wife’s WhatsApp status emerged, offering the bounty for his killing, which he claims stated, “A reward of ₹ 50,000 will be given to the one who kills the husband.”

Further complicating the situation, the husband asserts that his wife had been involved in an extramarital affair with a tenant from a neighbouring house, which he believes to be the root cause of their disputes.
