CBI to Probe Arvind Kejriwal’s Residence Renovation Case

New Delhi: The Union Home Ministry has ordered a CBI probe into alleged irregularities in the renovation of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal’s residence. This comes after a preliminary enquiry by the CBI found evidence of wrongdoing.

The CBI has instructed the Delhi government to submit all relevant documents by October 3rd. The probe agency will investigate the allegations of deviations and violations committed by the Public Works Department during the renovation.

The controversy erupted earlier this year when the BJP accused Kejriwal of spending approximately Rs 45 crore on the renovation. Kejriwal has denied the allegations, calling them politically motivated.

In addition to the CBI probe, the Home Ministry has also ordered a special audit by the CAG. The findings of the audit are expected to be released in the coming months.
