Bomb Threat On China Bound Plane; IAF Jets Scrambled

New Delhi: When an Iranian aircraft, bound for China, reached Indian airspace on Monday, security officials received inputs that the plane had a bomb onboard. Following this lead, fighter jets of the Indian Air Force (IAF) were dispatched from Jodhpur and Punjab to intercept it.

Security services in Delhi got information regarding the potential presence of a bomb on board, which led to the activation of an alert. Following a bomb threat, Mahan Air informed the airport’s air traffic control of an immediate landing at the Delhi airport, ANI reported.

However, after clearance, the plane was permitted to continue on its way to China. All IAF air stations and aviation units were on alert as security authorities closely monitored the flight’s path towards China over the Indian air space.
