DCW Issues Notice To Police Over Viral Video Of Man Masturbating in Delhi Metro

New Delhi: A viral video purportedly showing a guy masturbating in a metro train prompted the Delhi Commission for Women to issue a notice to the city police, an official said on Friday.

The man can be seen engaging in the “obscene act” while seated in the Delhi Metro, according to the widely shared footage on social media, the panel claimed, “This is a very serious matter”.

The DCW has sought a copy of the FIR filed in the case as well as a thorough action taken report (ATR) By May 1.

DCW Chief Swati Maliwal urged that the accused be treated exemplarily, describing the incident as “sickening”.

“It is utterly abhorrent and sickening. The accused must be put in jail, and severe measures must be taken. More and more incidents of this nature are being reported in the Delhi Metro, and she continued, “Exemplary action must be taken against such persons to ensure the safety of women in the Metro,” she added.
