Delhi Metro Stations Defaced with Pro-Khalistan Slogans Ahead of G20 Summit

New Delhi: In the lead-up to the G20 summit scheduled for September 9-10, multiple metro stations in Delhi were seen defaced with pro-Khalistan slogans. Slogans like ‘Delhi Banega Khalistan’ and ‘Khalistan Referendum Zindabad’ were discovered sprayed in black on the walls of various metro stations situated in west Delhi, including Punjabi Bagh, Shivaji Park, Madipur, Paschim Vihar, Udyog Nagar, and Maharaja Surajmal Stadium.

The Delhi Police have identified activists from the banned group Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) as responsible for writing these pro-Khalistan slogans at several metro stations, including Shivaji Park and Punjabi Bagh. Additional incidents of defacement were reported, including anti-India graffiti on a wall of the Government Sarvodaya Bal Vidyalaya in Nangloi.

Responding swiftly, the Delhi Police’s Special Cell has taken charge of the situation, with officers deployed at key locations. The police have successfully removed all the graffiti from the metro station walls. The investigation is ongoing, utilizing CCTV footage to identify and apprehend the suspects involved.

Meanwhile, the outlawed Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) released video footage showcasing the defaced metro station walls with pro-Khalistan graffiti. In the footage, Gurpatwant Singh Pannu, the chief of SFJ, announced plans for a so-called Khalistan referendum to be held on September 10 in Surrey, Canada. This date coincides with the G20 summit being held in Delhi.
