G20 Gift Hampers: A Taste of India

New Delhi: The G20 summit held in New Delhi, India, was a major event that brought together world leaders from around the world. To mark the occasion, India presented each leader with a gift hamper that encapsulated the essence of Indian culture and biodiversity.

The centrepiece of each hamper was a rosewood sandook, a traditional Indian chest that is a symbol of craftsmanship and heritage. The sandook was filled with a variety of items, including:

  • Kashmiri saffron, the world’s most expensive spice
  • Pekoe Darjeeling and Nilgiri tea, two of India’s most famous teas
  • Araku Coffee, the world’s first terroir-mapped coffee
  • Sundarbans multiflora mangrove honey, a unique honey from the world’s largest mangrove forest
  • Kashmiri pashmina shawls, a luxurious and warm woollen fabric
  • Zighrana Ittar, a centuries-old perfume from Kannauj

These gifts were carefully selected to represent the best of what India has to offer. They were also a way for India to showcase its rich culture and natural resources to the world.

The G20 gift hampers were a hit with the world leaders, who appreciated the thoughtfulness and generosity of the gesture. They were also a reminder of the importance of cultural exchange and cooperation.
