Delhi Shocker: Elderly Man Rapes Minor, Son Records Incident

New Delhi: In a deeply distressing incident, the Delhi police have brought to light a shocking case of alleged rape involving a 16-year-old girl and a 68-year-old man. The survivor’s father approached the police after discovering a video of the incident, which was recorded by the accused’s son. The incident is believed to have taken place between April 20 and 30 at the accused’s residence. The survivor, living in the same neighbourhood as the accused, had previously interacted with him due to their families’ connection and their shared religious trips.

According to the survivor’s statement to the police, the accused lured her when she was alone outside her house. He then took her to his house, where he allegedly raped her in a secluded corner. The survivor remained silent and fearful until her father watched the video recording of the incident. The accused’s son, who suspected his father of practising black magic, had secretly placed a phone in his room, unknowingly capturing the crime.

After interrogating both the accused and his son, the police arrested the accused and sent him to judicial custody. The accused is facing charges under Sections 376 (rape), 506 (criminal intimidation), and 354 (assault or criminal force to a woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of the Indian Penal Code, as well as relevant sections of the Protection of Children Against Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Meanwhile, the police are collecting evidence to take action against the accused’s son for recording and sharing the video with the survivor’s father.

To ensure a fair investigation, the police seized the mobile phones used for sending and receiving the video. These devices will be thoroughly examined to establish the son’s involvement. The Deputy Commissioner of Police (North), Sagar Singh Kalsi, stated that relevant sections of the IT Act and the Indian Penal Code will be invoked based on the evidence gathered.

In addition to the main individuals involved, the police have also registered a case against a neighbour of the survivor’s family named Narender. He is accused of pressurizing the family not to report the incident to the police. A separate case of criminal intimidation and assault has been filed against him.

The survivor has been provided with counselling and sent for a medical examination. The police have requested the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) to arrange a post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) counselling session for her. Additionally, her statement will be recorded before a judge under Section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code. The investigation is currently underway, and the victim’s family is receiving ongoing support.
