Former Judge Booked for Sexually Coloured Remarks Against TV Journalist

Thiruvananthapuram: Former sub-judge S Sudeep has been charged by the police for making sexually coloured remarks against a senior woman television journalist on social media. The remarks were made in a recent Malayalam Facebook post where he criticized her weekly TV show, a satirical news analysis programme.

The objectionable post sparked widespread outrage on various social media platforms, with numerous netizens condemning his remarks. The Cantonment police have registered a case against him under IPC Section 354 A (iv) for making sexually coloured remarks and Section 67 of the IT Act.

A senior police officer stated that the accused has been served a notice to appear before the investigating officer the following week for further proceedings. The case has drawn attention to the importance of respecting others’ dignity and the legal consequences of making such offensive comments online.
