Hindu Man Thrashed for Riding Bike with Muslim Woman in Patna

Patna: In a distressing incident that unfolded in Bihar’s Patna, a Hindu man fell victim to a group assault by locals when he was seen riding a bike with a Muslim woman. The incident took place at a local market within the Pirbahore Police Station limits.

The man, identified as Sagar Kumar Mishra, and the woman, who were classmates, were confronted and interrogated by the locals as they were on their way somewhere.

The Muslim locals insisted that the woman return home and expressed their disapproval of a Hindu man being in her company. Consequently, Sagar Kumar Mishra was subjected to physical assault, while the locals questioned his presence alongside the Muslim woman. The entire incident was recorded on camera and swiftly went viral on various social media platforms.

The Patna Police have stated that they have not yet received any complaints from either Sagar Kumar Mishra or the woman involved. However, they have initiated an investigation into the matter based on the widely circulated video.

This incident is reminiscent of a similar episode that occurred earlier in Kanpur. In that case, a man was also subjected to a severe beating and had his head shaved after being seen conversing with a woman near a school in the city. The man was accused of changing his name to harass girls. However, during the investigation, he identified himself as ‘Raja,’ while his Aadhaar card reflected his name as ‘Arif.’
