Kerala Ravaged by Heavy Rains: Landslides and Flooding Hit Thiruvananthapuram

Thiruvananthapuram: Heavy rains have triggered landslides and flooding in Kerala, particularly in Thiruvananthapuram district. The downpour since Saturday has led to waterlogging, street and road flooding, and inundation of low-lying areas. The Technopark colony in Kazhakootam witnessed water entering homes, resulting in evacuations.

The district administration has initiated relief efforts, promising assistance to those impacted. A ministerial meeting was held to address the situation, and 17 relief camps are now operational in the district, accommodating 572 individuals.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued orange and yellow alerts for various districts, indicating very heavy and heavy rainfall, respectively, for the coming days.
