Patna: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was encouraged by Lalu Yadav to get married during a press conference following a major opposition gathering in Patna. The lighthearted remark from the senior leader elicited laughter from everyone present. Lalu Yadav, who made a rare appearance at the political meeting, jokingly expressed his desire to be part of Rahul Gandhi’s wedding procession.

The 53-year-old Congress leader responded playfully, stating that now that Lalu Yadav had mentioned it, it would indeed happen. Lalu Yadav further urged him to consider the idea seriously, mentioning that Rahul’s mother had complained about him not listening to her. Rahul Gandhi agreed, indicating that he would take the suggestion seriously.

During a previous interview in January, Rahul Gandhi had mentioned that he would marry when he found the right person. He emphasized the importance of a loving and intelligent partner, without specifying any particular checklist. However, he jokingly expressed concern about the interviewer’s comment potentially causing trouble for him.

In another interview in December, Rahul Gandhi had expressed his desire for his partner to possess qualities similar to his mother Sonia Gandhi and his grandmother, former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
