4-Year-Old Girl Mauled to Death by Leopard in J&K’s Udhampur

Udhampur (J&K): A 4-year-old girl was mauled to death by a leopard in the Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday evening.

The girl, identified as Tanu, was dragged by the leopard from her home in Upper Banjala village and her body was found two kilometres away.

Range Officer of Jammu and Kashmir Wildlife Department in Udhampur, Rakesh Sharma, said that a search operation was launched after the leopard was spotted near the village, but the girl was found dead.

Sharma expressed deep sorrow over the incident and said that the department is committed to preventing such occurrences in the future.

He also pledged support to the grieving family.

Efforts are underway to capture the leopard responsible for the attack.
