PM Modi Marks First Kashmir Visit Since Article 370 Abrogation with Mega Development Push

Srinagar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday marked his first visit to Kashmir since the abrogation of Article 370 on August 5, 2019. Accompanied by J&K Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha, he unveiled development projects worth over Rs 6,400 crore during the ‘Viksit Bharat, Viksit Jammu & Kashmir’ program in Srinagar.

During the event, PM Modi emphasized the significance of the projects in propelling Jammu and Kashmir’s development, stating that a developed Jammu and Kashmir is essential for a developed India. He also highlighted the positive impact of the abrogation of Article 370, stating that it has facilitated the region’s growth.

Amid tight security arrangements, CRPF personnel were deployed along the routes taken by the Prime Minister in Srinagar, ensuring a safe visit. Barricades were set up at various locations to maintain order.

Interacting with residents, PM Modi expressed his joy at being among the people of Srinagar. The event witnessed a large turnout, with enthusiastic attendees donning Modi masks and chanting his name at Srinagar’s Bakshi Stadium.
