Man Kills Wife, Garlands Her Body Before Surrendering To Police

Amaravati: In yet another gruesome murder, a man killed his wife and surrendered before the police after garlanding her body with flowers.

The deceased woman, identified as Swathi was married to one Kakarla Venkata Kotayya Rao, a lorry driver by profession. They were living at Gandhinagar in Tenali.

According to police, Kotayya suspected Swathi of having an affair with another man and harassed her frequently.

On Thursday, Kotayya went to the beauty parlour run by his wife in an inebriated condition and got into a fight with her.

Following this, he stabbed Swathi in the neck, hands and back with a knife, killing her on the spot.

He then put a garland of flowers, which he had already bought and kept outside the beauty parlour, around the neck of his wife’s body and surrendered to the Tenali rural police station near his house.

A case has been registered and police have taken Kotayya into their custody.
