Ganjam Man Murders Wife With Sharp Object, Disposes Body in Cropland

Berhampur: A man allegedly beat his wife to death in Jura village last night in the Patrapur village of Ganjam and then dumped the body in a crop field.

The deceased has been identified as Jayanti Sahu, whereas the accused is named as Narayan Sahu.

Narayan reportedly used to return home intoxicated with alcohol every day, which used to trigger a massive outbursts from his wife. When Narayan returned home intoxicated last night, a similar brawl broke out between the two. In a fit of rage Narayan pulled out a sharp object and started stabbing Jayanti until she fell unconscious. He then disposed of the body in a nearby crop field.

When the locals learned about it, they nabbed Narayan and later turned him over to the Patrapur police.

The police then went to the spot, recovered the body and sent it for an autopsy.
