India Deploys Mosquitofish to Combat Dengue at G20 Summit Venue

New Delhi: India is making elaborate preparations to host the G20 summit in New Delhi on September 9-10, 2023. The summit will be attended by leaders of the world’s 20 major economies, and India is leaving no stone unturned to ensure its security and success.

Security is paramount for the G20 summit, and India is deploying tens of thousands of security personnel. Rooftop snipers and anti-drone technology will be used to safeguard the event, and India’s elite counter-terrorism unit, the “Black Cats,” will be on high alert. Bulletproof limousines will be used to transport visiting dignitaries.

To manage the influx of attendees, traffic regulations will be strictly enforced in the city centre. Businesses will remain closed, and a holiday declared to ensure smooth operations during the summit.

The summit will take place at Bharat Mandapam, a recently renovated conference centre in Delhi’s Pragati Maidan. The location is close to historical landmarks like the Purana Qila Fort and Raj Ghat, where leaders are expected to plant trees.

Delhi has undergone a beautification drive in preparation for the G20 summit. Homeless individuals living in the city centre have been relocated to “shelter homes.” Fountains that were long dormant are now flowing, and faded road markings have been repainted. Over 70,000 flower pots have been placed throughout the city.

In addition to security and traffic measures, India is also taking steps to control pests ahead of the G20 summit. A team of “monkey-men” has been deployed to deter monkeys from disrupting floral displays meant for global leaders. Additionally, eight teams equipped with insecticide sprayers are targeting potential mosquito breeding sites at the venue.
