8-Year-Old Boy Among 2 Killed In Mumbai Residential Fire

Kandivali: A massive fire erupted in a residential building in Mumbai’s Kandivali area on Monday, claiming the lives of two individuals. Glory Walphati, 43, and Josu Gems Robert, 8, were killed in the blaze.

The fire originated on the first floor of the Veena Santur Cooperative Housing Society at approximately 12:30 pm. It quickly spread to the electrical wiring and installations, causing extensive damage.

Three other people were injured in the fire, including Lakshmi Bura, 40, Rajeshwari Bhartare, 24, and Ranjan Subodh Shah, 76. Bhartare sustained severe burn injuries, accounting for 100 percent burns, while the others suffered burns up to 50 percent.

Eight fire engines were promptly dispatched to the scene to extinguish the flames. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
