Salman Khan’s Security Beefed Up After Gunshots Outside Mumbai Home

Mumbai: Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s security has been bolstered a day after gunshots were heard outside his home in Mumbai. Despite no upgrade in his security level, additional personnel have been assigned to his team, including three more cops and one personal security officer (PSO). Khan has also been instructed to notify Mumbai Police before leaving his residence, with advice to remain indoors unless absolutely necessary.

The incident occurred when two individuals fired four rounds outside Khan’s Bandra’s Galaxy Apartments around 5 am, before fleeing on a motorcycle. CCTV footage captured the suspects, with the pillion rider seen firing shots. The abandoned motorcycle, registered to an individual in Panvel, was found near Mount Mary Church, prompting a police investigation.

Inquiries revealed the motorcycle’s owner recently sold it, leading authorities to question him and two others. The investigation is probing potential links between the suspects and a previous trespassing incident at Khan’s Panvel farmhouse. Notably, two individuals were arrested in January for attempting to enter the farmhouse, reportedly associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

The gang’s activities extend to high-profile criminal cases, with gangster Lawrence Bishnoi currently incarcerated. Allegations suggest the recent incident’s planning may have originated in the United States, involving Bishnoi’s brother and another gangster.

The police have registered an FIR against an unidentified individual under section 307 of the Indian Penal Code and the Arms Act, citing attempt to murder.
