2 Men Who Fired Outside Salman Khan’s Mumbai Residence Arrested From Gujarat

Mumbai: Mumbai police on Tuesday arrested two shooters who opened fire at the residence of Bollywood actor Salman Khan in the early hours of Sunday. The suspects, identified as Vicky Sahab Gupta and Sagar Shrijogendra Pal, originally from Bihar, were arrested in Bhuj, Gujarat, following a tip-off. Police revealed that the accused sought refuge in a temple in Bhuj before being arrested.

The bike-borne assailants, fired four rounds outside Bandra’s Galaxy Apartments before fleeing the scene at around 5 am. CCTV footage revealed the perpetrators wearing caps and backpacks while firing towards the actor’s residence.

Investigations unveiled that the duo procured a second-hand bike from Raigad district to reach Khan’s residence, having travelled from Panvel where they rented accommodation for a month. Both individuals have alleged ties to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, with Bishnoi presently locked in Tihar Jail for involvement in various high-profile crimes.

Following the incident, Anmol Bishnoi, Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother, claimed responsibility via an online post, labelling it a “preview” and issuing a warning to Khan. The motorcycle used in the attack found abandoned near Mount Mary Church, was registered under the name of a resident from Panvel.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Panvel, Ashok Rajput, confirmed that the motorcycle was recently sold by its owner. Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde extended support to the actor, assuring him of unwavering assistance and a commitment to upholding the rule of law.

In response to heightened security concerns, additional personnel have been deployed to Khan’s security detail, and he has been advised to notify Mumbai Police before leaving his residence unless for essential purposes. Gupta and Pal have been remanded to police custody for nine days by a Mumbai court following their extradition from Gujarat.
