NIA Probe Reveals Cooker Making Khichdi Caused Bengaluru Blast That Killed 1

New Delhi: Investigation led by the NIA has revealed that a pressure cooker in which khichdi was being cooked blasted in South Bengaluru’s JP Nagar killing one and injuring another on Tuesday, reported NDTV.

According to reports, the blast occurred when two barbers, Sameer and Mohsin, were preparing Khichdi in a pressure cooker on small gas stove. The blaze from the gas stove spread out and destroyed all household items of these two barbers hailing from Uttar Pradesh. They were living together at the place for the last eight years.

Both of them received severe burn injuries in the blast. One of them died and the other is undergoing treatment.

Initially it was suspected that the blast may have been caused by explosives. So, both the Karnataka police and the National Investigation Agency (NIA) reached the spot for intense investigation as it was feared that it may be related to the blast in Bengaluru’s Rameshwaram Cafe earlier this year which had injured at least ten people.
