NIA Arrests 2 Men from Bengal Who Planned & Planted Bomb at Bengalury Cafe

Bengaluru: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday arrested two prime accused in the Rameshwaram Cafe blast in Bengaluru in March.

The arrested persons were identified as Mussavir Hussain Shazeb and Abdul Matheen Taha. Both are residents of Thirthahalli in Shivamogga district of Karnataka.

As per reports, Shazeb planted the explosive device inside a bag at the café. Taha was involved in the planning of the attack and their subsequent escape after the blast. Another conspirator, Muzammil Shareef, who provided logistical support to the main accused, was arrested on March 26.

On Friday morning, a NIA team traced the two men to Kolkata where they were living under fake names. The duo was nabbed in a joint operation, the central intelligence agencies and police of West Bengal, Telangana, Karnataka, and Kerala police.

In the blast in the café on March 1 in Bengaluru, ten customers and hotel staff members were injured.

The NIA had declared a reward of Rs 10 lakh on information leading to the arrest of each of the key accused.
