NIA & CCB Detain Cloth Merchant in Rameswaram Café Blast Case

Bengaluru: Sleuths of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Central Crime Branch (CCB) involved in the joint investigation of the March 1 blast at the Rameshwaram Cafe in Bengaluru of Karnataka are reported to have detained a cloth merchant from Kaul Bazaar in Ballari.

The investigating agencies suspect that the detained person is an active member of the outlawed Popular Front of India (PFI), and was part of the conspiracy plan for the café blast.

Meanwhile, the investigation has revealed that the man who planted the bomb at the Rameswaram Café on March 1 travelled from Bengaluru to Tumakuru, Ballari, Bidar and then Bhatkal, sources said.
