Two Teachers Arrested For Eloping With Students

Lucknow: The Ballia police arrested two teachers on Monday for eloping with their female students in separate incidents.

Two young girls were later saved by the police from the district’s Bairiyia area.

Both of the apprehended suspects were jailed, as per relevant sections of the IPC, and the girls were taken for medical examination.

Shamsher Alam, a maulvi at a madrasa from Sitamarhi in Bihar, is one among the people who were arrested. He allegedly eloped with the 19-year-old girl last month while she was being tutored by him in the same locality.

On Sunday, the police were able to apprehend him close to the Suremanpur train station, and the girl was also saved.

In a separate incident, Nitesh Kumar, a private instructor from Ibrahimabad, is accused of eloping with a girl who is 15 years old.

Dharamveer Singh, a station house officer, claimed that the girl used to reside in the village of her paternal grandfather.
