Mamata Banerjee Suffers Minor Injuries in Helicopter Emergency Landing

Siliguri: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s helicopter made an emergency landing at Sevoke air base near Siliguri on Tuesday due to inclement weather.

Banerjee reportedly suffered injuries to her hip and leg while disembarking from the helicopter under challenging conditions at the Sevoke airbase in Siliguri. However, the extent of her injuries remains uncertain.

Banerjee was en route to Bagdogra airport after addressing an election rally in Jalpaiguri when the helicopter encountered bad weather over the Baikunthapur forest. In view of the heavy rainfall, the pilot made the decision to make an emergency landing.

Consequently, Banerjee’s travel plans were altered, and she proceeded to Bagdogra airport by road before flying back to Kolkata.

The incident occurred during her campaign for the upcoming panchayat elections in northern West Bengal, scheduled for July 8.
