11-Yr-Old Girl Abducted, Raped After Cancel of Marriage, Maulana Among 9 Arrested

Lucknow: An 11-year-old girl was kidnapped and raped by a man in Uttar Pradesh’s Banda district when his marriage with the girl was called off. Nine persons including the accused and a Maulana were arrested in relation to this case.

Earlier the marriage of this minor girl had been fixed with a youth named Sahil. But for some reason, the marriage was canceled.

Irked by it, Sahil kidnapped the minor girl from her home with the help of his relatives and raped her on July 7. The victim’s family lodged a complaint against five people.

Police have registered a case for kidnapping, rape against the arrested accused persons. Sections under the POCSO Act have also been added up. The accused will be produced before a court on Wednesday.
