12-Yr-Old Rape Victim’s Home Torched in UP; Her Infant Son, Sister Seriously Injured

Lucknow: The house of a rape victim was set on fire in Unnao of Uttar Pradesh. The infant son of the rape survivor and her two-month-old sister were seriously injured. The son had been conceived by the 12-year-old dalit rape victim because of the sexual assault. UP police have arrested a person in relation to the inhuman arson.

This dalit girl was gang-raped on February 13, 2022 and she gave birth to a son in September 2022. The rape victim’s infant son suffered 35 per cent burns while her sister had 45 per cent burns. They were shifted to a Kanpur hospital.

It is alleged that it was an attempt to kill the victim’s infant son. The minor girl was raped by two men last year. After coming out on bail, they set fire to the victim’s house on Monday. They also beat up the mother of the rape victim before setting the family’s thatched hut on fire. It is alleged that they set fire to the house when the rape survivor refused to withdraw the case.
