2 Children Die as Rain Causes House Collapse on Sleeping Family in UP

Lucknow: Two children died, while three others of their family were seriously injured when a house collapsed on them in Naseerpur village in Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar district in the wee hours of Sunday. According to police sources, incessant rain since Saturday night was the reason behind this house collapse.

All members of this ill-fated family were sleeping when the mishap occurred.

Locals rescued the injured and they were admitted to a hospital for treatment.

The victim family was living in a makeshift house. Anil Kumar, the Lok Dal MLA, who reached the spot alleged government’s failure in providing adequate housing for the underprivileged. He and the locals demanded financial assistance for the affected family.

Local SDM promised adequate assistance to the family in accordance with the established guidelines.
