Part of Under-Construction Bridge on Ganga Collapses in UP

Lucknow: Two beams of an under-construction bridge being built on the river Ganga collapsed in Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr on Friday night. Luckily no casualties were reported in the incident.

Bulansahr collector CP Singh claimed that the beams collapsed due to a storm.

The bridge is being constructed at the cost of 83 crore rupees to connect the Gajraula village in Bulandshahr to Virampur village in Amroha. It is being constructed under the supervision of the Public Works Department (PWD) and Setu Nigam of UP.

The collector denied the allegations regarding the usage of low-quality construction materials for the bridge as a reason behind the collapse.
