Agitating Olympian Wrestlers Meet Home Minister Amit Shah

New Delhi: Agitating Olympian wrestlers Bajrang Punia, Sakshi Malik and Vinesh Phogat met Home Minister Amit Shah late Sunday evening. This meeting took place at Amit Shah’s residence. According to sources, during this meeting, they discussed their allegations and agitation against the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief.

The meeting was a long one but no decision could be reached, said sources. Bajrang, Sakshi and Vinesh are spearheading the protest of wrestlers against president of the WFI, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh since April. Many wrestlers including a minor have alleged sexual harassment against the WFI head.

The protesting wrestlers were manhandled and detained by Delhi Police and their arrangements at the protest site at Jantar Mantar were dismantled.

The wrestlers had threatened to immerse their medals in the river Ganga. With many people including the farmers’ leaders requesting them, they handed over their medals to the farmers’ leaders.
