BMC land Fraud: EOW Arrests 3 Including Retd BMC Employee

Bhubaneswar: Three persons including a retired employee of the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) were arrested by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Odisha Police in a land fraud case on Thursday.

The arrested persons were Haladhar Dash, a retired employee of BMC, Subadha Kumar Parida and Mamata Parida. A complainant named Lipika Das had registered a complaint against them. According to her, a patch of land owned by her had been fraudulently sold to someone else without her knowledge because of the conspiracy of these three.

According to the EOW, Mamata impersonated as Lipika before the sub-registrar, Khandagiri, for the sell deed of a plot measuring 2,000 sq. ft. in Malipada Mouza, Khordha, to Haladhar. This fraudulent sale deed was made without the knowledge of the actual owner, Lipika.

Mamata had used a fake Aadhaar card with her photo putting the Aadhaar number of the actual owner Lipika. But she had put her own photograph in the sale deed.

An investigation is on to find out the involvement of other persons in this land fraud racket.
