Businessman Kidnapped in Bhubaneswar; 3 Held

Bhubaneswar: A businessman was kidnapped from Jagannath Nagar Lane 8 of the Laxmi Sagar area of Odisha’s capital city Bhubaneswar.

The businessman was identified as Manoj Mohapatra. He was abducted at gunpoint by four men on Friday evening from the Jagannath nagar area.

According to reports, after the kidnapping, the kidnappers called his family members and informed them that he would be released at a ransom of rupees one and a half crore.

Reportedly, the victim was beaten and his legs and hands were tied. A video of the act was sent to the family. The family members reported the matter to the Lakshmi Sagar police station.

After filing the complaint, police conducted an investigation and rescued Manoj from the Nimapada area. The cops have also detained three people and are interrogating them.
