Center wars 7 states including Odisha: Corona infection is increasing, advice to focus on testing and tracking

New Delhi: Corona infection is increasing continuously in some states of the country. The central government has written a letter to 7 states including Odisha to express their concern and take precautions in this regard. Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhusan has written to the governments of Odisha, Delhi, Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana and directed them to take steps to ensure public compliance with the Covid-19 restrictions.

Mr. Bhushan mentioned in his letter that as the season of festivals is approaching, there is a possibility of organizing pujas and cultural programs at various crowded places. During this time, there is a possibility of the infection spreading more. Therefore, in order to deal with this, the letter mentioned that the testing system should be adequate in all the districts. He also suggested increasing the number of both RTPCR and antigen tests. In addition, he said to keep a special watch on the districts where more infected are detected. He also advised to make proper arrangements so that the infection does not spread further.

He further mentioned that the national capital Delhi has an average of 811 daily infections. This situation continues for the past month. Therefore, the government has asked to arrange surveillance to prevent infection. Diseases such as influenza have to be closely monitored as there are many changes in symptoms now.

Districts wise patients have to be identified and provided all kinds of medical facilities as per the guidelines. If necessary, the district administration or the state government can take appropriate steps, he said. He has ordered strict implementation of corona measures in crowded markets, interstate bus stands, schools, colleges and railway stations. Similarly, he asked to focus on increasing the vaccination rate of the eligible beneficiaries and ensuring that everyone takes advantage of the free booster dose.
