Gold hopes over in women’s cricket, India lost to Australia got silver a silver medal

Birmingham: The Indian team was defeated by Australia in the women’s cricket final match of the Commonwealth games-2022. Australia won the match by 9 runs and won the gold medal. Team India got silver medal. The final match at Edgbaston in Birmingham went to the last over. But India could not complete the victory target of 162 runs given by Australia.

Australia batted first and collected 161 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the scheduled 20 over. In response, India lost all wickets in 19.3 over and was bowled out for 152 runs. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur scored the highest 65 runs for India. She hit 7 fours and 2 sixes. Jemima Rodriguez played 33 balls and scored 33 runs with 3 fours. The performance of other Indian players was disappointing.
