Chhattisgarh government appointed 9 transgender as police

Raipur: Chhattisgarh government hired transgender. Among the 2100 constables selected for Chhattisgarh police recruitment, there is 9 transgender plus. Bastar has been established under the ‘Fight Scheme’ to deal with the Maoists. These will be engaged in the Mao-affected Bastar Division.

For the first time, the state police have appointed a transgender person for deployment in the Bastar range. It is expected to create a new dimension in policing in tribal areas. Bastar Range Inspector General Sundarraj P. He said, “Since transgender will be included in the police in Bastar range for the first time, we are sure this will create a new direction for the police in the local area.”

Out of the 9 successful candidates of the third gender, 8 are from Kankar district and one is from Bastar district. The IG said We will create a favorable working environment for the third-gender in the police service so that they will not feel any kind of discrimination.

They will undergo training at Police Training School Mana in Raipur. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel’s government decided to establish a separate force ‘Bastar Fighters’. Those who are familiar with the local culture, language, and land, and related to tribals are given the opportunity.

2100 posts were approved mainly for anti-Naxal recruitment. Earlier, members of the security forces did not have sufficient knowledge of the local language to deal with the militants. Now it is expected that the problem will be solved.
