Custodial Sexual Abuse: Case Lodged Against 6 Andhra Cops

Visakhapatnam: Six police personnel of Andhra Pradesh including a sub-inspector were booked for custodial torture and sexual abuse of two female suspects in a theft case.

According to police sources, this incident allegedly took place a few days ago, when a group including two women was apprehended by the personnel of Puthalapattu police station in relation to a case of theft. Two suspects, who confessed to being involved in the theft were sent to remand, while the other suspects were sent back to their homes in Krishnagiri in Tamil Nadu.

After returning to Krishnagiri, two female suspects filed a complaint at Krishnagiri Police Station in Tamil Nadu alleging that they were subjected to custodial torture and sexual abuse by Andhra police.

Based on their complaint, a case has been registered at Chittoor II Town Police Station and an investigation is underway.
