EOW Arrests Job Fraudster Active in 17 States from Bihar

Bhubaneswar: Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Odisha arrested one Dharampal Singh from Bihar in a job fraud case spread across 17 states including Odisha. The arrested person is a resident of Rupanchak village, under Hatua police limits in the Gopalganj district of Bihar.

He is being brought on five days transit remand to Odisha. The 17 states where he was continuing his fake job racket were, Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Odisha, Tamil Nadu,

Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, West Bengal, Assam, Himachal Pradesh,

Uttarakhand, Kerala, Karnataka, Jharkhand, Punjab, and Haryana.

The arrested accused Dharmalpal Singh is the secretary of “Gramin Rojgar Kalyan Sansthan” which has registered offices in New Delhi and other offices in Mumbai, Bhopal, and Dehradun.

He developed a website resembling a Govt website displaying the Govt like job advertisements. “Gramin Rojgar Kalyan Sansthan” (GRKS) invited applications for various jobs like District and block coordinator, computer operator, block surveyor etc. prescribing the educational qualification and the remuneration for the individual posts.

The job seekers were required to submit their applications through the web only. They gave advertisements in major newspapers in different states. To gain the confidence of the job seekers they also offered reservations and concessional fees as is done for Govt jobs.

They also conducted the online exam and interviews and warned job seekers about Job Fraud.

Being attracted by advertisements that resembled that of the Government, lakhs of unemployed youths across the nation applied for the posts from 2020 onwards by paying the required application fees. This money was misappropriated by the frauds. In this manner GRKS

GRKS misappropriated crores of rupees from gullible job seekers.
