Former JDU President RCP Singh Joins BJP; Was Union Minister in the Past

New Delhi: Former Union minister and Janata Dal-United (JDU) President RCP Singh joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday. He was formally welcomed to the saffron party by Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan at the BJP headquarters.

Singh left JDU in 2022 because of his differences with Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. The JDU alleged him to be involved in corruption related to ‘discrepancies in immovable properties’.

Speaking to newsmen after joining the BJP, Singh attacked Nitish Kumar, saying he was ‘hungry’ for ‘Chair’. “Nitish Babu says he is against crime and corruption, but he is doing everything for another ‘C’, that is the chair”

He questioned Nitish Kumar’s visits to different states for opposition unity while the people of Bihar voted him for the welfare of the state.

Singh was all praises for PM Modi. “Because of the work being done by his government, India has now become the fifth largest economy in the world’, he said.
