Goods Train Derails at Vizianagaram Railway Station; Restoration Work Underway

Vizianagaram: A goods train derailed at Vizianagaram railway station in Andhra Pradesh earlier today while transitioning from the loop track to the main track. Fortunately, the loco pilot was promptly alerted of the situation and no untoward incident was reported.

Railway officials have assured that train operations remain unaffected, and restoration work is currently underway. They anticipate completing the necessary repairs in a timely manner.

This incident marks the second derailment in Andhra Pradesh within a week. In the previous occurrence, five wagons of a goods train derailed between Tadi and Anakapalli, causing track damage due to the coal-laden cargo.

In another railway incident, a goods train derailed near Ambadola in Odisha’s Rayagada district on June 17. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but four wagons of the train derailed.
