Government’s new plan to avoid unknown number scam

New Delhi: The government has prepared the draft of the Indian Telecommunication Bill 2022. Even so, there are many new things in this draft. However, there is a discussion about some special rules. One such issue is the licensing of WhatsApp and other internet calling apps. These apps will also now have to take a license like the telecom companies.

Regarding this bill, the Department of Telecommunications has asked for suggestions from the public. Communication Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw gave the information related to this draft. He said that according to the instructions of the Prime Minister, the draft of the bill should be prepared to keep in mind the protection of consumers. Both the service provider and the user need to have caller ID information. All calling platforms have to follow a single regulation to reduce the gap between voice and data calls.

Now there is no such rule regarding internet calling or data calls. After the new bill is passed, data calling apps will also have to follow the same rules as telecommunication companies.
