As per reports, telecom companies Reliance Jio and Airtel have already set up 510 base transceiver station (BTS) towers all over the state.

The eagerly anticipated service will be launched in Bhubaneswar by Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Minister of Railways, Communications, and Electronics & Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw.

It is important to note that in the beginning, the 5G services were only been made available in a few cities, including Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Gandhinagar, Gurugram, Hyderabad, Jamnagar, Kolkata, Chennai, Lucknow, Pune, Delhi, and Mumbai.

Additionally, the next-generation cellular network was also demonstrated in President Draupadi Murmu’s village Pahadpur in the Kusumi block of the Mayurbhanj district of Odisha.

At the laying of the foundation stone for the renovation of Bhubaneswar Railway Station, Ashwini Vaishaw had announced that 5G services would be available in Odisha by January 26.

Notably, 5G trials were started across India in October 2022.
