High-Tech Ganja Cultivation in AC Room, 5 Medical Students Arrested in Karnataka

Bengaluru: Five final-year medical students involved in high-tech secret ganja cultivation were arrested in Karnataka’s Shivamogga. The arrested students were doing their medical internship at a private medical college in Purale near Shivamogga. They were peddling cannabis grown by them for easy money.

Recently the investigation following the arrest of two other students of the same medical college for peddling cannabis led to the unearthing of this clandestine weed cultivation by the medical students.

It was found that the arrested medical students had rented a house for the hi-tech cultivation of cannabis plants in pots. The set-up included a canvas tent inside an air-conditioned room on the terrace of the rented house. The tent was fitted with Light- Emitting Diode (LED) panels and six fans.

The arrested students had procured this technique of ganja cultivation via the internet. They had got the cannabis seeds through online purchase.

The arrested medical students were booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
