Jagannath Temple’s Singhadwara to Get Silvery Glitter by End of Rathyatra 2023

Puri: The Singhadwara or the east-facing main gate of the Jagannath Temple in Puri will be plated with silver metal. The Ratna Palanka (bed) of Lord Jagannath made up of silver will also be repaired. Both these repair and renovation works will be done under the supervision of the ASI during Rathayatra this year, which starts on June 20, 2023.

This decision was taken by the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) at a high-level meeting on Saturday.

The existing Ratna Palanka of Lord Jagannath will be repaired. Another set of Ratna Palanka will be made of silver for the deities. SJTA Chief Administrator Ranjan Kumar Das said, the SJTA also decided to cover the Singhadwara of Srimandir with silver plates.

During the silver plating work of Singhadwara, the devotees will enter the temple through Hastidwara (elephant gate) situated in the north direction.

It is also proposed to cover the other three gates of Srimandir with silver plating.
