Loud Blast at Indo-Pak Border in Kashmir Panics Villagers; Grenade Recovered

New Delhi: Inhabitants of a border village in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua were panicked by a loud blast on Wednesday evening. This explosion sound rocked the Hiranagar sector along the Indo-Pak border.

Villagers came out of their homes hearing the loud sound. Later one live grenade was recovered in the fields during a search operation on Thursday morning.

According to Kashmir police sources this loud sound of an explosion was reported from border village Sanyal or Chanyal. It was heard several kilometers away in villages adjoining the border.

Following it, security forces launched a massive search operation and senior officers also rushed to the village. It is suspected that the sound may be from the blast of an IED.

But no report of any loss or damage has been received so far from the area.
