5 Kashmir Journalists Resign Following Terror Outfit Threat

Srinagar: While the country is celebrating National Press Day today, five journalists resigned from their jobs in Kashmir due to terrorist threat. All of them were working for a local newspaper.

They were among a dozen journalists, who were threatened by a terrorist organisation through a social media post. According to police sources, the  Resistance Front (TRF), an offshoot of the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) was behind these threats. The terrorist organisation accused that these journalists were helping security agencies.

The journalists threatened by this terror outfit include two editors of local newspapers.

After resigning two of these journalists posted their resignation letters on social media.

Police has initiated action against this recent threat against journalists in Kashmir. Around 12 suspects have been rounded up for interrogation.
