Man Killed as Mohana BDOs Vehicle Runs Over his Bike in Gajapati Dist

Paralakhemundi: An SUV transporting the Mohana Block Development Officer (BDO) ran over a bike at Podoni Chhak in Odisha’s Gajapati district on Tuesday. The victim died on the spot.

According to police sources, the deceased was T Prabhakar (50) of Satamail village. The Mohana BDO Tapaswini Hansdah was travelling to Paralakhemundi to attend a district-level meeting of the BDOs when her vehicle caused the accident. The BDO’s speeding SUV hit Prabhakar who was travelling on a bike. According to eyewitnesses, the wheels of the vehicle ran over his head, causing his immediate death.

The BDO is reported to have left the spot after the road accident. Receiving information personnel of Paralakhemundi police reached the spot. The body was seized and sent for autopsy to the District Headquarters Hospital. The driver of the SUV was detained by police for further investigation into the incident.
