Morning Fog to Accompany Continuing Winter Chill in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The nighttime temperature continues to plummet in Odisha. During the past 24 hours, at least seven places in Odisha recorded minimum night temperatures below 10°C.

In 12 places, the minimum temperature was below 15°C.

Similar dry and cold weather will continue across the state for the next week, predicted the IMD. Added to it, most places are likely to experience shallow to dense fog in the morning.

According to the regional office of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Bhubaneswar, the intensity of the cold will continue till December 17.

G Udaygiri in Kandhamal district was the coldest place in Odisha on Thursday recording a minimum temperature of 7.5°C and it was followed by Phulbani (8.5°C) in the plains, Kirei (8.7°C) in Sundargarh, and Semiliguda (8.7°C).

Similarly, Daringbari in Kandhamal recorded a minimum temperature of (9.5°C), while Koraput (9.8°C), and Rourkela (9.7°C) were also too cool.

The minimum temperatures recorded in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack were 15.23°C and 14.5°C respectively.
