Odisha Man Sells Wife in Delhi

Bhubaneswar: A man from Kalahandi district allegedly sold his wife in Delhi. Narla police of Kalahandi district arrested the accused.

The accused is identified as Khira Beruk of Maskaguda village under Narla police limits. He was forwarded to the court and was sent to judicial custody.

A police team is preparing to leave for Delhi to rescue the victim.

As per reports, Khira had an affair with a young woman from Mundgaon, who he married even after the resistance of the family. Both Khira and his wife left for Delhi on October 30 to work as migrant laborers.

In Delhi, Khira attended a wedding ceremony. There he pre-planned to sell his wife to the person whose marriage ceremony he was attending.

After selling his wife, Khira returned to his village.

Meanwhile, the victim called up her father and sent a video clip of her forced marriage in Delhi. Following that, the victim’s father filed a complaint with Narla police.

Police arrested Khira and remanded him to judicial custody after his production at the court.
