One Groom Weds Two Sisters in Rajasthan; The Reason is Heart Touching

Jaipur: A youth tied the nuptial knot with, not one, but two brides at a village in Niwai town of the Tonk district of Rajasthan. The brides were sisters. It was ritualistic marriage ceremony attended by friends and relatives of both families.

The brides were living with their parents at Khation-ki-Dhani of Sendra village, and the 23-year-old groom was a farmer’s son from Morjhala-ki-Jhonparia of Uniara town.

Their unique polygamous marriage was solemnized with all religious rituals in a ‘Mandap’ at Sendra on May 5 night, reported The Statesman.

The invitation card for the wedding mentioned that Hari Om was getting married to Kanta and Suman. The reason behind this dual marriage is also interesting. The elder sister, Kanta, had set a condition that Hari Om should also marry her younger sister Suman along with her. The younger bride Suman is mentally weak and is totally dependent on her elder sister. The elder sister wanted to look after her younger sister even after getting married.

Meanwhile, Hari Om has decided to take her second wife to a specialist doctor for checkup and treatment.
