Police Takes Groom Into Custody from Marriage Procession for Cheating Live-In Partner

Sundergarh: Police took a groom into custody, while he was on his way to the wedding venue in a procession in Sundargarh district on Sunday.

The groom, identified as Bishnu Pinga of Khokpada under Burma police station limits was allegedly in a live-in relationship with Sanju Kirkita and the couple is said to be having a 5-year-old child.

It is alleged that recently Bishnu snapped his relations with Sanju and escaped to Chennai leaving her behind with the child. A few days back, Bishnu returned back to his village to get married to another girl from Dharuadihi village. When Sanju came to know about it, she registered a complaint against Bishnu at the Gobindpur police station on March 16.

Acting on Sanju’s complaint, police picked up Bishnu while his marriage procession was on its way to the bride’s village. Police have also seized the car used by Bishnu in the marriage procession,.

He is being interrogated by the police.
